The Whoops! Child Safety Project, part of the Children's Foundation, delivers unique, tailormade training packages to health professionals, parents, carers and children.  Our hard-hitting, visual materials and techniques ensure maximum impact on injury prevention.  We work in partnership to share knowledge, resources and expertise to build capacity and cascade messages throughout the entire community.

We aim to

  • Raise awareness of the dangers.
  • Promote behavioural change.
  • Improve the environment, both in the home and outdoors.
  • Reduce the impact of injury by immediate First Aid Care.
The Whoops! Child Safety Project uses traditional health promotion tools combined with the arts to effectively relay safety messages and information to parents, carers, professionals and children.

Reducing injury has far reaching effects. Long-term physical scarring that can be seen, but also the long-lasting trauma leading to adult/child mental ill health. With a strong emphasis on joint venture, we work with professionals across health, social care and education.

The “Whoops! Project” part of The Children's Foundation, successfully deliver child safety initiatives to health professionals, parents/carers and children. Our training is unique from that of any other organisation operating in the rest of the United Kingdom. We are unique in our approach to reducing preventable injury by being the only training organisation of its kind in the UK. We offer ground breaking safety initiatives and use hard-hitting visual resources to back up our safety messages, working in partnership with various regional and national organisations to actively promote unintentional injury awareness and the necessary skills to reduce such injury.

Every year in the UK, the equivalent of two primary schools full of children will die as a result of an accident. Many, many more children are injured, disabled or scarred as a result of these accidents.

Dealing with childhood accidents costs the country millions of pounds every year but the emotional cost to families is enormous.

The sad fact about childhood accidental deaths is that most accidents can be prevented.

The Whoops! Child safety Project is creative, proactive and exciting in its approach to reducing childhood accidents.
